WEEKENDS

WEEKENDS:  I do prayer on weekend a little differently.  I spend almost all of my time in praise or worship during my prayer time.
It’s not so much what I do as the affection and passion of Just who God is.  I am thankful for what He has done.  I love just how close we are. I’m thankful for my Church. I praise him with music and instruments, in all types of ways.  I sit at His feet and just be still.  I listen to the Audio Bible I read the Bible I put on music, I play my piano some times I write songs that are in my heart.  I sometimes being single curl up on the couch with my Bible and a wineglass of (Usually ginger ale or Chocolate milk), and I wait for Him to talk with me or just be with me.  It is a time of reflection of the past week, A time of goal setting for the next week. It’s A time when I let God just be the center of my day.  So having said that I think I will start to post Saturday’s blog on Friday late night.  I love to read the Psalms on these days because they are what David felt and talked with God in those times of His life.
I will be back again tomorrow hope you all had a great weekend.

The first 5 minutes of The Hour of prayer

Happy Friday! I am going to talk about the first 5 minutes of your hour of prayer. It is based on the Lord's Prayer that Jesus told to His disciples to prayer in this manner:
Our Father Which art in Heaven Hallowed be thy name.
I hope that you downloaded bot of the workbooks that I posted yesterday. If you look at the first page of The Hour that Changed the world you will see that the manner of prayer is divided into 12/5 minute sections,  so is the Lord's Prayer. What I share hear is not a law it's not a required manner of pray some days my prayer start something like
**H****E****L****P***.
There are things to avoid when praying but for the most part I don't think God is too surprised when you just pour out your soul to Him.  To pray for an hour this is a great way to start.  My problem is that I I have a hard time holding to the 5 minutes each. It become unbelievably impossible after awhile to believe it was so hard to begin with.
How to Address God is right from the start Our Father--we are children of God and as a Child the greatest blessings we will ever present to someone will be from our Father! So Here it is Father your name is so amazing so different then all others. Then go back to yesterday's blog on all the different names of God and Start Praising Him for who He is. Every thing Jesus did was to point us towards the Father and the Father has set Him Above all.
1.  OUR FATHER WHICH ART IN HEAVEN
       a. Picture Calvary and thank God that you can call Him “Father” by virtue of the blood of Jesus. Understand all that Christ did on the Cross all the things He took and saved us from, illness, transgressions, sin, death!

2.  HALLOWED BE THY NAME

       a. Praise God for Who He is and for what He has done for us.
       b. Hallow the names of God corresponding to the benefits in the new covenant. to honor as holy; as  profound respect for God; "the fear of God"

       c. In faith; declare, that God is your provision in these areas:
Here are a few example from the Old testament but as you continue look at the whole list and there are a few that are missing and Praise God for who HE IS THE GREAT " I AM"

AREA OF BENEFIT   NAME OF GOD   MEANING OF NAME

SIN - forgiveness of sin :
JEHOVAH-TSIDKENU   “Jehovah our righteousness”

JEVHOAH-M’ KADDESH  “Jehovah Who sanctifies”

SPIRIT-fullness of :the Holy Spirit
JEHOVAH-SHALOM   “Jehovah is our peace”

JEHOVAH-SHAMMAH   “Jehovah is there”

SOUNDNESS - health and healing:
 JEHOVAH-ROPHE   “Jehovah heals”

SUCCESS - freedom from   the curse of the law

JEHOVAH-JIREH   “Jehovah’s provision shall be seen”

SECURITY - freedom from the fear of death and hell   JEHOVAH-NISSI   “Jehovah my banner”

JEHOVAH - ROHI   “Jehovah my Shepherd”

Both books start your prayer with Praise and that is what you do when you tell God how thankful you are for Who He is and how Precious that is for you.  So spend 5 minutes at the start of the hour. This week that is the only part of this you have to work on. In 12 weeks you will be praying an hour a day! but you can pray as you like with it but this is a way to start.
SO HAVE A GREAT DEAL OF FUN LEARNING WHO GOD IS BY GOING THROUGH AND PRAISE HIM FOR WHO HE IS.

From My Heart

I love to spend time with God! As a single lady I have actually found out that He is truly a Husband to me. The most important thing in Prayer is first to start to talk to and listen to God.
Jesus The Living Word is found in many almost any place but of course it is most easily found in The Bible.  So as I have said before and will likely keep saying is get into the Bible.  I challenge you today to just continually try to Hear His voice in your mind in everyday life.  When you wake up say Good Morning Holy Spirit be with me today help me to hear what you have to say to me.  Help me Holy spirit be sensitive to you.  After you do those things then expect it.  To begin with when you have that little voice talking don't attack it with doubt. To begin with God will help block those wrong word in your mind and later as you learn to hear His voice it will be easier to discern between His Voice and your voice or the voice of the deceiver.

John 10:4

New King James Version (NKJV)
And when he brings out his own sheep, he goes before them; and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice.
God speaks through everyone and everything as He likes.  Numbers 22:29,30 He talked to a great Prophet of God through his donkey's mouth. Sometime it's through counsel and sometimes it is from the paper some comment a person makes.  Just be open to hear it when it comes and if you are expecting it, He will speak to you.  See how it goes for the next week. Let me know how it goes. Come back tomorrow to learn how to start the road to being able to pray for an hour a day.

What did Jesus say about prayer

Jesus wants us to pray. He uses the Bible to lead us in prayer, that However, is only going to work if you read, memorize, meditate on the Bible. I have read my Bible 40+ times but I don't think that is what makes me a great prayer warrior I think it is knowing that it is the Word of God in me that makes me totally rely on Him in prayer.  I don't have some magic formula for prayer. I do use the gift of the Spirit and the fruits of the Spirit in prayer but it is the Word that God uses to show me how to pray. Prophetic gifting only is a little part of prayer, listening and watching is the greatest tool we have.
So how do we read the Bible.
Almost everyone has their own way of reading the Bible.  Some try to get through it by reading it daily on a reading program. http://www.biblegateway.com
http://www.biblestudytools.com/

Programs are available in many website and often on the inside of Bibles in Print. People use different translations. Some people read just a little every day.  I don't know if there is a right or wrong way but the Bible does say in Psalm 1:2 to meditate on it habitually  or make a habit of it day and night. I read my Bible in the late morning and the late night. This is not my study time just my God speak to me through your word time. I do this because His word is like a special letter He wrote to me that I might know Him better.

Psalm 1

But his delight and desires are in the law of the Lord, and on His law (the precepts, the instructions, the teachings of God) he habitually meditates (ponders and studies) by day and by night.

Well How did your prayer go

My prayer goes something like this Jesus the people on my blog and those on my FB wall I ask you that they would be blessed and have wisdom as they seek out good counsel. God keep them from walking the counsel of the ungodly or standing in the path of sinners keep them from those who are seated in scorn.
Jesus let their delight be in Your law not that of bondage but that which brings life and freedom. Let them meditate day and night on Your words of blessing and wisdom.
Father I ask that they would be like a tree which is planted by the waters, richly growing full of fruit in the season for their fruit. Let them drink from the water the living water that you said they would never thirst again if they drank. Let their life their leaf never wither and may what ever they do prosper.
Keep these people from the paths of the ungodly which are like chaff or dead flakes that the wind drives away. Let them instead stand in the Judgment knowing their sin is forgiven and their life is fullness in Christ.
God know their ways and may they prosper, In Jesus mighty name amen

Praying the Word of God

I am posting this again because the strongest prayers we can pray are those from or including the Word of God. So work on this area.  Maybe this time try one of the psalms or proverbs when praying.
I spend a great amount of time in prayer, I have found that one of the ways that God starts to show me how to pray for someone or something is by bringing into my heart a scripture.
It is really quite easy to look up a scripture and read it in context and then put it into prayer.
I will give you an example of how to put Scripture into prayer one of my long time favorites to generally pray over anyone is found in Colossians 1 Sometime I simply pray the scripture as mostly shown here or sometimes I will sense the spirit moving me towards a different direction.  I only put the first part of Colossians 1 below but the whole chapter works well. This one I used the amplified Bible but often different ones will seem better.

Father in Heaven I lift _________ to you today as one of your people set aside for the purposes of God I pray they would be a faithful child in Christ and they would have Grace that of spiritual favour and blessing, and They would find favour and peace in their heart from God our Father.

Jesus I continually give thanks to the Father for_______and lift them to you in prayer.

As they have given their life to Christ through faith I ask that they would lean their entire being in absolute trust and confidence in Your power, wisdom and goodness. Allow that Faith and power be shown for all the saints and for their family.

God let them experience all of what is laid up reserved and waiting for them from Heaven. May they be strong in hope by being in your word and understanding the Truth of the Gospel.

I ask Father that they would bear fruit and continue to grow by their effective and fervent prayer and would prevail with tremendous power. (James 5:16)

God I make a request of you for them that they may be filled with the deep and clear understanding of Your will for them in all Spiritual wisdom.  Give them Clear and deep knowledge of Your will in all their ways. Give them the insight and discernment of Spiritual things. In Jesus name I pray Amen!

Try a scripture for yourself sometimes it is easiest to start with the psalms and proverbs so try to pick out a scripture and turning it in to a prayer.  To start try Psalms 1 I have used the New King James here but check out other translations while I use many on line Bible programs I find the best for prayer is http://www.biblegateway.com
(NKJ)

Blessed is the man
Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,
Nor stands in the path of sinners,
    Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;
But his delight is in the law of the Lord,
And in His law he meditates day and night.
He shall be like a tree
Planted by the rivers of water,
That brings forth its fruit in its season,
    Whose leaf also shall not wither;
And whatever he does shall prosper.

The ungodly are not so,
But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.
Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,
Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous,
But the way of the ungodly shall perish.
Come back next time and see how I prayed this prayer for you.
Love Kim
