Battleground of the mind Courage and Love vs Spirit of Fear

Courage, Boldness and Love
vs
The Spirit of Fear
Just for your info there is no way to talk about this subject in a single post. It will take several posts to fully cover it but we will start here!
When I think of Courage I always think of the cowardly lion in the Wizard of Oz.

All though he thought he was a coward he broke into the witches castle regardless of his fear and save Dorothy.  for those of you that haven't seen the movie sorry great story.  It really is what God expects from us it's not to say you don't feel fear  it is about not letting fear control your life.  That means being courageous.
The book of 1 John possibly could be the Courage book in the Bible it is all about Love.  I am going to put the whole chapter here but we are going to dissect it throughout this post.
We need to discern the spirits are they true or false?

1 John 4:1-21 New King James Version

Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God; because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is of God,  and every spirit that does not confess that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is not of God. And this is the spirit of the Antichrist, which you have heard was coming, and is now already in the world.
You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world.  They are of the world. Therefore they speak as of the world, and the world hears them.  We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.
First this scripture talks about discerning the spirit, false prophets, and then that we are little children and if we believe Jesus came in the flesh we will overcome those spirits.  I think that this is important because to conquer your fear you first have to believe it is possible.

Knowing God Through Love

Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.  He who does not love does not know God, for God is love. In this the love of God was manifested toward us, that God has sent His only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through Him. In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.
Then God tells us just why we can overcome fear. Because God loved us so much that he sent Jesus.  If you go back to the story of the cowardly lion what motivated him to be courageous? It was the love he had for Dorothy.  That's what God goes on in this scripture we ought to love others because He loved us.

Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another.

Seeing God Through Love

No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.  By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit. And we have seen and testify that the Father has sent the Son as Savior of the world.  Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God. And we have known and believed the love that God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him.
Others can see that we believe in God because we love one another, and why is that important let's look below....

The Consummation of Love

Love has been perfected among us in this: that we may have boldness in the day of judgment; because as He is, so are we in this world.  There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment.
But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.

The reason because fear involves torment. Anyone and everyone that is plagued with the spirit of Fear will tell you it torments them, it stops them from sleeping, working, making relationships and much more.  Every Angelic visitation starts "fear not"  Actually "fear not" is in the Bible hundreds of times.

So the minute you become saved you will immediately love everyone and totally delete fear. That's a lie the world would like you to believe but God brings change in us as we spend more time with Him.  The Holy spirits in us bears fruit as we spend more time with Him. One of those fruits is "LOVE".

Obedience by Faith

20 If someone says, “I love God,” and hates his brother, he is a liar; for he who does not love his brother whom he has seen, how can[c] he love God whom he has not seen? 21 And this commandment we have from Him: that he who loves God must love his brother also.
So in the battlefield of our mind this is one we have to grow in daily.  The reason satan wants you to believe that you are not perfect in love you are not perfect because you still have fear. When we first become born again by accepting Christ we are like babies.  Isaiah talks about this
Isaiah 28:
“Whom will he teach knowledge?
And whom will he make to understand the message?
Those just weaned from milk?
Those just drawn from the breasts?
10 For precept must be upon precept, precept upon precept,
Line upon line, line upon line,
Here a little, there a little.”
Trying to teach people things before that are mature enough in the Lord to understand them, will rob them of rest and refreshing.

11 For with stammering lips and another tongue
He will speak to this people,

12 To whom He said, “This is the rest with which
You may cause the weary to rest,”
And, “This is the refreshing”;
Yet they would not hear.
1But the word of the Lord was to them,
“Precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
Line upon line, line upon line,
Here a little, there a little,”

Trying to teach people things before that are mature enough in the Lord to understand them, will rob them of rest and refreshing. One of my favorite scriptures in the Bible is Zechariah 8, because God is telling them all about the possessions that He has for the remnant of the People that stood firm with Him.    .

Zechariah 8:13

New King James Version (NKJV)
13 And it shall come to pass
That just as you were a curse among the nations,
O house of Judah and house of Israel,
So I will save you, and you shall be a blessing.
Do not fear,
Let your hands be strong.’
Do not fear let your hand be strong is said over and over in the Bible.

So let's start with How is it possible to defeat fear?  Perfect love cast out love we read in I John 4:18. So it is in need of a multi-layered solution.  First you need  to Understand exactly what God did for you, and who He is and Just how far He went to love you.
People that do not accurately portray what Christ did on the Cross actually build fear in people.  Jesus forgives ALL sin He is the only one that Has paid or redeemed you from the wage of sin.  The wage of sin was death, but the Gift of God is eternal life.  Satan stands day and night before the throne of God and accuses you of everything. He also has some little slimy demon doing the same thing in your mind. Jesus stand before the same Throne and intercedes for you night and day. The way we guard our mind is with the Helmet of Salvation.
The first thing he wants you to believe is that you will lose your salvation if you confess your weaknesses to another. That is a huge lie that most people believe over and over. The fear of failure, fear of wounds, fear of others they are all about fearing people more then God and because you still don't understand just what He did for You. So for tonight I would like to suggest you check out this link https://sites.google.com/site/christianbasics1/study-6-christ-s-death-and-resurrection
Check out the scriptures read them
or
Better yet turn to the Book of Romans and follow the Roman's road.
I would like you to read it so that you will know that I am not telling you anything that is not in the Bible. Tomorrow I will talk a bit about the Fear of Failure.

Romans Road of Salvation

  1. Everyone needs salvation because we have all sinned.

    Romans 3:10-12, and 23
As the Scriptures say, “No one is righteous—not even one. No one is truly wise; no one is seeking God. All have turned away; all have become useless. No one does good, not a single one.” ... For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. (NLT)
  2. The price (or consequence) of sin is death.

    Romans 6:23
For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life through Christ Jesus our Lord. (NLT)
  3. Jesus Christ died for our sins. He paid the price for our death.

    Romans 5:8
But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. (NLT)
  4. We receive salvation and eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ.

    Romans 10:9-10, and 13
If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved ... For “Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.” (NLT)
  5. Salvation through Jesus Christ brings us into a relationship of peace with God.

    Romans 5:1
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. (NLT)

    Romans 8:1
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. (NLT)

    Romans 8:38-39
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NLT)

Responding to Romans Road

If you believe Romans Road leads to the path of truth, you can respond by receiving God's free gift of salvation today. Here's how to take a personal journey down Romans Road:
  1. Admit you are a sinner.
  2. Understand that as a sinner, you deserve death.
  3. Believe Jesus Christ died on the cross to save you from sin and death.
  4. Repent by turning from your old life of sin to a new life in Christ.
  5. Receive, through faith in Jesus Christ, his free gift of salvation.

In the Name of Jesus.
