Keep On Moving "the next 5 minutes" of the Hour Of Prayer

“FOR”
This is a “because” it says that everything before it we are to do because of what is coming.

This one word is enough to make us stop and realize what Jesus said in the first part of this prayer.
Yesterday in my post I went through what we have prayed so far.
1.  Worship the Lord by His Names
2.  Praying for the Kingdom of God in us in the Church and to the world.
3.  Praying for our needs
4.  Forgiveness from our sin and forgiving others for their wrongs against us.
5.  Keeping away from sin and Repentance and forgiveness from sin admitting we have weakness and asking God to direct our paths
6.  Watching for the wiles of the evil one and apply what Christ did on the cross.

I want to go back over the Lord’s Prayer.

Our Father, which art in heaven,
Hallowed be thy name;
Thy kingdom come;
Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive them that trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation;
but deliver us from evil.

The reason we pray all the above things, is because of the last sentence of the prayer. It is because of the freedom and the forgiveness for our needs being met and for guidance that we get that leads our paths and keeps us from harm, which is why we need to spend the rest of our time with drawing close to God.  Get all the business out of the way just so we can become intimate with God.
So these 5 minutes is easy to tell you but can be long in learning.  So, For these 5 minute just wait for God to speak to you.
Psalms 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

Prayer is a 2 way conversation and we should always be listening to and for God to speak to us throughout, but I find that it is important to actually put a place for Him to talk to me. This is where the more of the Bible you have read and the more scripture you know will make it easier for God to speak to you.  This happens in a different ways.
 John 10:14-16
14 I am the good shepherd; and I know My sheep, and am known by My own. 15 As the Father knows Me, even so I know the Father; and I lay down My life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they will hear My voice; and there will be one flock and one shepherd.

Vs: 27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me. 28 And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to snatch them out of My Father’s hand. 30 I and My Father are one.”
  He will bring someone or something into my mind and will give me a sense of what He is saying.

While I am waiting I either just stay silent or I meditate on scripture or read the psalms, proverbs, and I wait.  Even if God doesn’t say anything you will find that this is extremely refreshing a time of solace and quiet will calm your spirit release you from cares and will give you energy.
So there it is 5 minutes waiting for God to talk to you.
Enjoy your Prayer time this week help it be more natural and familiar and less legalistic.
Next week we will talk about
the next word
"Thine"
