we are now at 30 minutes of prayer 5 minutes at a time

Deliver us from the evil one happened on the cross Jesus' resurrection sealed the deal took away all of Satan's authority and His return will be the end of the evil one

Who is the evil one?

It would be very easy to fight the evil one if we recognized him.  If he looked like he does in cartoons or fantasy films.
However he seldom ever looks evil at all. So just who is the evil one? Lets start and see who he was before he fell.
 Although The chapter is talking about the king of Tyre it is actually talking about Lucifer.  Ezekiel 28 tells us about Lucifer We know this because the King of Tyre was not in heaven or in the garden of Eden.
He was the perfection of wisdom and beauty
 Ezekiel 28 12 "Son of man, weep for the king of Tyre. Give him this message from the Sovereign LORD: You were the perfection of wisdom and beauty

 This is not a real picture of Lucifer as I have no idea what he looks like.
 He wasn't the ugly horned pitchfork tail demon, we see portrayed today.
  13 You were in Eden, the garden of God. Your clothing was adorned with every precious stone -- red carnelian, chrysolite, white moonstone, beryl, onyx, jasper, sapphire, turquoise, and emerald -- all beautifully crafted for you and set in the finest gold. They were given to you on the day you were created
 He was a mighty angel.  He had access to the Holy mountain of God.
  14 I ordained and anointed you as the mighty angelic guardian. You had access to the holy mountain of God and walked among the stones of fire.
 He was blameless
  15 "You were blameless in all you did from the day you were created until the day evil was found in you.
 His great wealth was what cast him out of heaven
16 Your great wealth filled you with violence, and you sinned. So I banished you from the mountain of God. I expelled you, O mighty guardian, from your place among the stones of fire.
 He was full of Pride.
  17 Your heart was filled with pride because of all your beauty. You corrupted your wisdom for the sake of your splendor. So I threw you to the earth and exposed you to the curious gaze of kings.
 After He was banished from heaven Lucifer came to rule over Kings with great wealth.  It still controls his desires today.
18 You defiled your sanctuaries with your many sins and your dishonest trade. So I brought fire from within you, and it consumed you. I let it burn you to ashes on the ground in the sight of all who were watching. 19 All who knew you are appalled at your fate. You have come to a terrible end, and you are no more." 20 Then another message came to me from the LORD:
When Jesus went to hell and took back the keys from Lucifer and death was defeated Satan was striped of the morning star anointing also.

Isaiah 14 tells us a few things about him. While we think of Lucifer as satan, it may be more correct to say the fallen angels are satan.  Lucifer simply the one that lead them and caused them to be cast down from heaven Lucifer doesn't consider himself as a prince like the other fallen angels he thinks he is there king. “How you are fallen from heaven,

Isaiah 14:12-17    O shining star, son of the morning!
You have been thrown down to the earth,
    you who destroyed the nations of the world.
13 For you said to yourself,
    ‘I will ascend to heaven and set my throne above God’s stars.
I will preside on the mountain of the gods
    far away in the north.
14 I will climb to the highest heavens
    and be like the Most High.’
15 Instead, you will be brought down to the place of the dead,
    down to its lowest depths.
16 Everyone there will stare at you and ask,
‘Can this be the one who shook the earth
    and made the kingdoms of the world tremble?
17 Is this the one who destroyed the world
    and made it into a wasteland?
Is this the king who demolished the world’s greatest cities
    and had no mercy on his prisoners?’

This chapter is actually talking to the King of Babylon and seems to be saying that he is Lucifer. If we go to the book of Revelations we see that Babylon the Great falls in one hour. The entire chapter 18 tells us about His fall you should read it. http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Revelation%2018&version=NKJV

Revelation 18:10

New King James Version (NKJV)
10 standing at a distance for fear of her torment, saying, ‘Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! For in one hour your judgment has come.’
When we come to the names of satan however there are many.
Satan means adversary

Names of Satan:

Tempter (Matthew 4:5; 1 Thessalonians 3:5);

Beelzebub (Matthew 12:24);

Enemy (Matthew 13:39);

Evil One (Matthew 13:19, 38; 1 John 2:13,14; 3:12, and particularly 1 John 5:18);

Belial (Means worthless or without value.) (2 Corinthians 6:15);

Adversary , (1 Peter 5:8);

Deceiver (literally "the one who deceives") (Revelation 12:9);

Dragon (Great) (Revelation 12:3);

Father of Lies (John 8:44);

Murderer (John 8:44);

Master of of Sinners (1John 3:8)

So enough about the evil one
 God deliver us from Him.
Now that we know who he is we are better equipped to resist and defeat him and his plans. The Bible says the LOVE of money is the root of all evil maybe it might be more accurate to say the "root of the evil one!" It is however true that it is one thing that over and over causes us to sin and to do things that are not God's desires or plan for us. So first thing might be to see how our money and us relate.  Do we hoard it are we good stewards of it.  There are 3 tools that satan uses to lure us all of which are part of his nature
1.  Lust of the eye wanting everything we see wanting it all.
2. Lust of the flesh wanting all that makes us feel the way we want
3. The pride of life.
So when you pray deliver me from the evil one it might be greed, it might be hate it might just be watching a movie that really does not fit the honor of a Child of the King.  The other part of this is being responsible that when we head toward him or he sneaks up to you like a beautiful woman walking by a married man. Then we must resist him. The Bible says if we do he will flee from us.

 1 Peter 5:5-11 Tells us how to do this.

1 Peter 5

New King James Version (NKJV)

Submit to God, Resist the Devil

Likewise you younger people, submit yourselves to your elders. Yes, all of you be submissive to one another, and be clothed with humility, for
“God resists the proud,
But gives grace to the humble.”
Therefore humble yourselves under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you in due time, casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.
Be sober, be vigilant; because[c] your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. 10 But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 11 To Him be the glory and the dominion forever and ever. Amen.

So even this prayer comes with responsibility.
Confess your sin, find someone else to confess your weakness to, someone who will help you break the sin off your life.
