Battleground of the Mind Part 4

STOP NO THOUGHTS ALLOWED WITHOUT THE WRITTEN CONSENT OF THE WORD OF GOD
We talked about the mind sieve from Philippians 4 and it is a good sieve, however knowing what to do and then to do it is often a totally different thing.  What we need to do is to learn to challenge those thoughts that don't line up with the Truth of God's Word.
2 Corinthians 10:5 casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ
Guilt, Blame, self-loathing, are all things that plague the mind. These also drain us of energy make us sick physically and often cause depression etc. The problem is that we have been taught for years that a Christian supposed to be pure holy, righteous, never do anything wrong. No one of us could ever live up to that, the letter of the law.  If we look back to when Adam and Eve were in Paradise and ate of the tree they had been forbidden to eat, they came under the burden of the law.  They became responsible to obey the law.  God knew that there was only one payment for sin or disobedience to the law and that was blood (Death). From that time until around 2000 years ago a lamb was sacrificed yearly and all the people would write down their sin and then it would go into the mercy seat and the blood of the lamb would be poured on the mercy seat and their sin would be forgiven.  The next day though it started again.  The solution then came when Jesus died on the Cross the ultimate and complete sacrifice Lamb
John 1:29
[ The Lamb of God ] The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Revelation 5:12

saying with a loud voice: “Worthy is the Lamb who was slain To receive power and riches and wisdom, And strength and honor and glory and blessing!

So now it is up to us by faith to accept that Jesus has forgiven us and we need to tear down stand against any thought that doesn't stand up to that.
Romans 33:23-26
23 For everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard. 24 Yet God, with undeserved kindness, declares that we are righteous. He did this through Christ Jesus when he freed us from the penalty for our sins. 25 For God presented Jesus as the sacrifice for sin. People are made right with God when they believe that Jesus sacrificed his life, shedding his blood. This sacrifice shows that God was being fair when he held back and did not punish those who sinned in times past, 26 for he was looking ahead and including them in what he would do in this present time. God did this to demonstrate his righteousness, for he himself is fair and just, and he declares sinners to be right in his sight when they believe in Jesus.

We are righteous because of the Blood of Christ in Roman 8 link above. Paul said then we no longer are slaves to sin we don't have to sin we can walk in a new way we are made new.
Still it doesn't change our thinking that much. First there is no condemnation in Christ. So if your thoughts are telling you to do better then obey if they are just making you feel condemned hopeless, then it is time for BATTLE.

CAST (tear) DOWN those arguments that rise up.  First you have to challenge your thinking, ie: I can never be used by God because I am just to bad of a person I have done too many terrible things. I am unlovable, I'm ugly.....  If you read all of Romans 8 you will see that ALL have sinned. You are not alone but there is only one way to be clean of all that sin and that is to put it under the blood of Christ, if that is where it is then leave it there put your hand in front of your ear palm out and say talk to the hand cause the head ain't listening.

Talk to Jesus about it because I no longer own that sin it belongs to Him.  Challenge every thought that doesn't make you feel closer to God if it's sin repent if it's not RISE UP & TEAR DOWN!

And when you have challenged and torn down those thoughts then maybe check out these scripture and tell the mind who GOD says you are.
