HAPPY CANADA DAY

When we take a day like Canada Day, I spend extra time praying for my country.

 There are many things that we need to pray for in our country. First of all our leaders. Prime Minister Harper and His Family.  I pray for both the man and His family, because of 1 Timothy 3 although this scripture is talking about leaders in the Church the same principles apply out of Church.  How can a man manage the affairs of our Country if they cannot manage their family.  Family is one of the largest distractions for any leaders. The leader need self control and be of sober-mind of Good behavior, hospitable to both people at home in Canada and also abroad. Not a drunkard, not violent, not greedy for money, gentle, not quarrelsome or one that covetous what is not for him one who rules their own house well. Someone who pay attention to their children and their children are obedient and respectful.
Then our premiers and so on. After that I concentrate on the supreme court and our laws. I ask that we would be a country of strong courage, great morality, that the laws and our courts would be guided by the Holy Spirit and here in Canada by the principles our family was started on.  In Canada we have a simple but amazing anthem and in prayer I declare every word of it.

We are a country of many different culture and identities but together we make a strong, glorious and free land.  Thank you Jesus for the nation we have and a land that is founded in Your freedom.
God may our nation continue to be free and that the courts would do everything necessary to maintain freedom in you.

Then I pray for the people.  We are a democracy, we are not a kingdom where the king is the ultimate authority, or a dictatorship where a group of people and one person are in the authority.  We live in a Country where the people are the ultimate Government. Which means when I pray for Canada I pray that the people of Canada hold the government to accountability. We have a declarations the charter of rights and freedoms written down and available to all. However the unwritten declaration also exists if only in the Spiritual realm and that is the declaration of Responsibilities.  God laws are very simple and can be summed up in 2 laws.  One Love the Lord your God and Lover others as you love yourself. If we love Our God then we love what belongs to Him.  it's easy the Earth is the Lords and the Fullness thereof. The people have the responsibility to obey the law, stand up against laws that are unjust. We need to remember that our rights should never override the laws of God. The laws of Kindness, Laws of righteousness, the Laws of morality etc........
So today I usually go out and declare the Country God's and as we celebrate I thank God for all that our Great country offers, The land the weather the mosquitoes yes even the pest. Every species of life that we have because some other species of life requires them to continue, then I swat any mosquitoes that come near me. Anyways HAPPY CANADA DAY. On July 4th I will tell you how I pray for other countries. Take in some fireworks some celebrations and enjoy the country of Canada today.  For those that are not In Canada, thanks for your love and support and remember that maybe one of the greatest things you will find in our country is a love for your country.
