WORSHIP

Worship, What it is?
If you look up worship in  the Bible you will find that it is often found along side of the Fear of the Lord. Worship differs from praise by this one thing, praise is for something some one has done, worship is about who someone is.  It's affection, it adoration, it's intimate, it is from the heart to the heart.

To worship God is about your heart.  It is about  Who God is to you

What are the attributes of God. When we truly know God we then will know that it would be terrifying to live in eternity without Him we would want to please Him and we will do what it takes to please Him. Just as a wife does for Her husband or a husband does for a wife.
So what are the attributes of God.  We learned the names of God in an earlier blog June 26/2013. God had no beginning and no end He is eternal God exists forever, meaning he has no beginning or end (Psalm 90:2; 1 Tim. 1:17). He has always existed in the same way: fully and completely as God. "Holy, holy, holy, is the Lord God Almighty, who was and is and is to come!" (Revelation 4:8)
You can find a list of them at:
http://www.theopedia.com/List_of_God%27s_known_attributes

We will at some time discuss them all but today I will concentrate on Holiness.

Holiness

"To say that God is holy is to say that He is eternally separate and distinct from all impurity. The term holiness in Hebrew, qodesh, has the notion of separation, of uniqueness, of one-of-kindness as it were." -Bruce Ware
Psalm 111:9
He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant to be forever; holy is His name, inspiring awe, reverence, and godly fear.
Proverbs 9:10
The reverent and worshipful fear of the Lord is the beginning (the chief and choice part) of Wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight and understanding.
Revelation 16:5
And I also heard the angel of the waters say, Righteous (just) are You in these Your decisions and judgments, You Who are and were, O Holy One!
What is it to be Holy?  If you where to look up all the different words used to describe Holy, the one that probably is the closest to Holy God is Pious which means found
at:
 pi·ous  (ps)adj.
1. Having or exhibiting religious reverence; earnestly compliant in the observance of religion; devout.
2.
a. Marked by conspicuous devoutness: a pious and holy observation.

So putting all that together the answer is simple ***   The Holy God is a God that is different and more devout then anyone, anything, anywhere at any time.
